Text :Matthew 7:24-27
“Therefore whoever hears this sayings of Mine and does them,I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock:and the winds blew and beat on that house;and it did not fall,because it was founded in a rock.But everyone who hears this sayings of Mine and does not do them,will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:and the rain descended,the flood came,and the winds blew and beat on that house;and it fell.And great was it’s fall. ”
What is Jesus calling rock in this context?Faith! Jesus is telling us how powerful faith is;that when you hear from God and believe by acting on the word,it’s like building your life on a rock.Let the rain,the flood,and the winds of attack come,you will be firm.
Apostle Paul describe it as a shield of faith.Hear what he said: “above all,taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one”(Ephesians 6:16).Child of God,faith is all you need to be undefeatable by the devil.
Many times,we hear the word but we don’t act.How then can you be blessed ?(James 1:22-25).When the devil comes,the Bible says great will be such a fall Here are the processes of faith:
Hearing from God (Rm.10:17)
Believe in the word of God(Rm.8:11,Mk.5:35-36)
Translate your believe to action (James 2:17-24).
The result of faith(Mk.11:22-24,Matt.7:25).
