"On the next day, as they were on their way and approaching the city, Peter went up on the house top about the sixth hour to pray. But he became hungry and was desiring to eat, but while they were making preparations, he fell into a trance;and he saw the sky opened up, and an object like a great sheet coming down, lowered by four corners to the ground, and there were in it all kinds of four-footed animals and crawling creatures of the earth and birds of the air. A voice came to him, "Get up, Peter, kill and eat!" But Peter said, "By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything unholy and unclean." Again a voice came to him a second time, "What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy." This happened three times, and immediately the object was taken up into the sky. "(NASB)
Recently, I began to ponder on what constitutes holiness, how or when can a thing be holy or unholy? Then the Holy Spirit said to me, "A thing,is holy or unholy depending on who uses it. If God uses a thing, that thing becomes holy, but if the devil uses a thing, that thing becomes unholy." So it is within the exclusive right of God to determine what and who is holy. From the above Scripture we see that, what God has cleansed, can no longer be considered unholy. Because God is the definer of good, whatever He does is good. In our unrighteousness, when God accepts us, we become holy. This was the case of Conielius;to Peter, he was unholy, but to God, he was holy. So when a thing gets into the hand of God, it becomes holy. The same thing the devil will do and it will be unholy, if God does it, it will be holy. For instances, How do you explain it that an evil spirit from the Lord will be sent to trouble someone and yet God will not be considered unholy? (1 Sam. 16:14, 16;19:9). This is because God's intentions are pure. God is true and good (1Jn.5:20,Mk.10:17-18,Jer.29:11,Rm.8:28).The Bible says :"The altar sanctifies the gift." (Matt. 23:19).God is the sanctifier and we are the sanctified(Heb. 2:11). No matter how unholy, in the eyes of man, a person may be, when he or she comes to God, he will be made and declared holy (Rm. 8:30).It doesn't matter how many abortions you have committed or how many lives you have taken, once you come to God, He makes you holy. Can you be more sinner than Apostle Paul? God saved him (1 Tim. 1:12-15).Don't let anyone condemn you and made you holy (Jn. 8:10-11).Once you come to Jesus, no one condemn you again. There are so many unanswered questions in the Bible, that sometimes get one confused about God. But I want to let you know that all you just need to do in such circumstances is to accept it the way Bible present it. The vivid picture of the unquestionable and yet Holy and Righteous God is in Roman's 9:6-26.In verse 14,the question is asked :"what shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? Certainly not!" God can decide whatever He wants to do with anything, He wants to do with anything, He will ever be right. How do you explain that Tamar and Rahad, who were harlots, could make it to the list of the generations of Jesus (Matt. 1:1-6, Gen. 38:6-30,Jos.2:1;6:23-25). Brethren, let us fear God, He is the unquestionable that can kill and make alive (Deut. 32:39).His authority is unquestionable.
