Unveiling The Scripture Through Christ Centered Mind

Text:2 Corinthians 3:14-18

"But their minds were blinded :for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament;which veil is done away in Christ.

But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart.

Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away.

Now the Lord is that Spirit :and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the lord."

The Scripture is not an open book that can be understood with ordinary mind. It takes a Christ Centered mind to unveil it. The Scripture from Genesis to Revelation is all about Christ. Unless you read it with this understanding, the Bible will be locked to you.

Don't read the Bible with other personalities as your focus.If you do, you will miss it. The Bible is not about other personalities, but about Christ, using other personalities as typologies of Christ.

From our text, you see that, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their hearts, but when it turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. So, Christ will be hidden, when you make other characters in the Bible you focus.

When, for instance, you are reading the book of Ruth, it's not necessarily the story of Ruth that is the focus, but the genealogy of Christ. Jesus attested to this fact when He said that the Scriptures testify of Him (Jn. 5:39).

Until the Scripture is unveiled, you can't know Christ (Lk. 24:27-31)

Unveiling Christ does not come by your educational qualification;it does not come by the position you occupy;it does not come by the influence you wield in the society, but by the Spirit of God (Acts 8:26-38, Jn. 16:12-15).

The question of the Eunuch is very important, if the Holy Spirit will unveil the Scripture to you :"I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? Of himself or of some other man?"

Once you are able to answer this question, the Bible will be oppened for you to see and know Jesus.

"Then Philip opened his mouth..." Don't open your mouth to preach unless you are preaching Christ. Don't open your mouth to sing unless you are singing Christ. Don't open your mouth to counsel unless you are sharing Christ.

From the same Scripture the Eunuch did not understand, Philip preached Christ, because he knew that the Scripture is all about Christ.

Beloved, anytime you are reading the Bible, if you don't want it to be closed, read it with Christ Centered mind.
