Text:John 13:34-35
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another".
As I look at the response of people towards the birthday celebration of one of our pastor's, I was shocked to find that only few people responded. I had expected the platform to be flooded with messages of love and appreciation. If we don't celebrate ourselves, who will celebrate us? It is the mind of Christ that we do things together as a family.
Love is the nature of God (1 Jn. 4:7-8).The extent to which we love One another is a reflection of our love for God (Matt. 22:36-40). Love is the greatest of all ministry gifts (1 Cor. 13) Other gifts are to be desired, but love is to be pursued (1 Cor. 14:1). Love is given and not held (Jn. 3:16). Love for God is expressed in your ministry to others (1Jn 21:15-17, Matt. 25:36). Love is a unifier.Where there is no love, there will be no unity;and where there is no unity, there will be no power and blessings (Ps. 133:1-3l. Let us examine ourselves to see whether we are truly in Christ (2 Cor. 13:5).
