HOW PREPARED ARE YOU

Topic:Matthew 24:32-34 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree.When it’s branch has already become tender and put forth leaves,you know that summer is near,So you also,when you see all these things,know that it is near-at the doors!Assuredly,I say to you,this generation will by no means pass away till all this things take place.”

Jesus,in the verses preceding our text was talking about signs of the end;about the things that will be happening before His coming.Such things as wars,rumours of wars,earthquakes,famine,pestilence(coronavirus),increase of false prophets with great powers for miracles,tribulations,etc.

He now have a parable with our text,in how you know the season of summer and then admonished us to learn from it.What you learn from it will determine how you prepare yourself for His coming.When He said, “This generation will not pass till all these things take place,” He was referring to the generation of the signs of the end.The Hebrew word for generation is toledoth,meaning history,account,succession.So when He used the word generation(toledoth)here,He was talking about the events,the history of the things that will be happening before Matthew 24:29-31 will take place.We use to think He was referring to the generation of that time,no,He is talking about the generation of tribulations.In His word,He assured us that with this generation the end has come.When His angels will be gathering together His ekecy ,will you be among?(Matthew 24:31).The answer depends on your preparation.How prepared are yoy?He is coming for a church,the individual,without spots or wrinkles (Ephesians 5:27).In the days of Noah,those that were not prepared were destroyed with flood.But Noah, “By faith,being divinely warned of things not yet seen,moved with godly fear ,prepared an arm for the saving of his household..” ( Heb.11:7).

PRAYERS

1. Lord,help me to be prepared for your coming.

2. Lord,like Noah,let me be moved with godly fear and be prepared,seeing all that is happening now as warnings from you.

3. Lord,as you prepare me,let no member of my household be unprepared.

4. Any other prayer you may want to pray.
